Peek ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by munstudio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Peek mobile application ("App").

By using Peek, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: your display name, @handle, email address, and optional profile photo.
• Content you share: photos and videos ("peeks") you send to friends through the App.
• Usage data: interactions within the App such as sending peeks, adding friends, and reactions.
• Device data: device type, OS version, and push notification tokens (for delivering peeks).
• Analytics data: anonymised usage events collected via Firebase Analytics to improve the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate the App and deliver peeks to your friends' devices.
• To let friends find you by your @handle.
• To send push notifications for new peeks and friend requests.
• To improve features through aggregated analytics.
• To show advertisements within the App (see Section 5).
• To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• With friends in your pod: your display name, handle, and profile photo are visible to users you have connected with.
• In anonymous mode: the recipient will not see your identity, but the peek content is still delivered through our servers.
• Service providers: we use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and push notifications; and Cloudflare for secure file hosting. Google's and Cloudflare's privacy policies apply to data they process on our behalf.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of users.

4. Photos and Videos

Photos and videos you send ("peeks") are resized on-device before upload and stored on Cloudflare R2 object storage. They are delivered to the intended recipient(s) and may be cached locally on recipients' devices. Content may be retained on our servers for a limited period to ensure reliable delivery. We do not use your photo or video content to train AI models or for advertising targeting.

Widget display: Recipients who have enabled the Peek widget may have your content displayed on their device's Home Screen or Lock Screen, where it may be visible to bystanders. By sending a peek, you acknowledge and accept this possibility.

Anonymous peeks: When you send a peek in anonymous mode, your identity is not revealed to the recipient. However, we retain a record of the sender's identity on our servers for safety and abuse-prevention purposes. Anonymous peeks are still subject to our content policies and these records may be disclosed where required by law.

5. Advertising

Peek displays advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks. These partners may collect certain device identifiers and usage data to deliver relevant ads. You can limit ad tracking through your device's privacy settings: on iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, Settings → Google → Ads, where you can opt out of ads personalisation or reset your advertising ID.

6. In-App Purchases

Peek offers optional in-app purchases processed through Apple's App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). We do not store or have access to your payment card details. The applicable platform store's privacy policy governs payment data.

7. Account Retention and Deletion

Accounts that have been inactive for 12 consecutive months may be automatically deleted along with associated data, including profile information and any stored content. You will receive a notification before deletion occurs if we hold a valid contact address.

You can request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at support@muntheme.com. We will delete your data within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Peek is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and Firebase security rules to protect your data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at support@muntheme.com to exercise these rights.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE FROM HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

We are not responsible for:

• Any content sent or received through the App by users, including offensive, inaccurate, or otherwise objectionable material.
• Content displayed on a recipient's device Home Screen or Lock Screen via the Peek widget, including visibility of such content to third parties in the recipient's vicinity.
• The actions of users in anonymous mode or the consequences of anonymously shared content.
• Any loss, corruption, or unauthorised access to your content, including peeks, profile information, or account data.
• Interruptions to service caused by third-party infrastructure providers including Firebase (Google) and Cloudflare.
• Any advertisements or third-party content displayed within the App.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Continued use of Peek after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
